Useful Information Traveling With Pets

📋 Entry Requirements

EU pets need a valid EU Pet Passport showing microchip ID and up-to-date rabies vaccination. Non-EU travelers must present a veterinary health certificate (Form 7001) issued within 10 days of travel, plus proof of anti‐rabies and anti‐tick treatments.

🚗 Transport & Ferries

Jadrolinija ferries allow leashed, muzzled dogs onboard free of charge. Buses permit small pets in carriers; larger pets require a second-seat ticket and muzzles. Cars and campers have no pet restrictions— secure pets in harnesses or crates for safety.

🏕️ Camp Policy

At Stella Maris, dogs stay free in designated pitches. Register your pet at check-in, keep them leashed outside, and use the separate pet swimming area. Owners are responsible for any damage and must clean up after their pets.

🏖️ Pet-Friendly Beaches

Our stone beach features a lower cove for dogs. Nearby Slanica Beach permits dogs before 9 AM and after 7 PM in summer. Bring fresh water and shade, and rinse paws after saltwater to avoid irritation.

🐾 Vet & Emergencies

Šibenik General Hospital (Obala Kneza Branimira, +385 22 215-555) offers 24/7 veterinary care. On-island: Dr. Novak in Betina (+385 99 1234-567) handles routine and emergency visits.

🤝 Tips & Etiquette

  • Carry waste bags and use marked bins.
  • Observe quiet hours (10 PM–8 AM); avoid barking or noisy toys.
  • Never leave pets unattended; provide cooling mats on hot days.
  • Introduce pets gradually to other campers to minimize stress.
